Helicone has been acquired by Mintlify, and our team will be joining them in San Francisco.

What this means for you: Helicone's services will remain live for the foreseeable future in maintenance mode. This means security updates, new models, bug & performance fixes all keep shipping.

Now for the story…

When we started Helicone three years ago during YC W23, everyone was building a "GPT wrapper." Every Twitter launch using GPT was going viral. Agents were in their infancy with AutoGPT. It was the first wave of AI-native products, and it was clear that observability for LLMs was going to become its own thing. We saw the gap and decided to go after it.

We were one of the first movers in the space. Back then, there wasn't really an "LLM observability market." We figured it out by shipping. Our fellow batchmates started asking for access. Then they kept using it. Then they told their friends.

Three years later, our users have processed over 14.2 trillion tokens through Helicone. 16,000 organizations have trusted us with their LLM infrastructure. We've helped track over 33 million end users. We hit #1 on Product Hunt and became the most-used LLM observability platform by YC companies. That still blows our minds.

Why Mintlify

Throughout building Helicone, we've seen thousands of AI companies. Mintlify has product-market fit in a way we've rarely seen.

We believe that the value of up-to-date knowledge will be massive in the agentic future. When agents act on behalf of users, where they pull from is critical. Mintlify is building that layer.

Han and Hahnbee are exceptional. They are fast executors with deep focus and great care for attention-to-detail. They've built a team and culture we're excited to join. From day one it's been a clear fit.

Thank you

Seriously, thank you. Thanks for trusting us with your production traffic. Thanks for the 2am bug reports. Thanks for the feature requests, the feedback, the patience when we shipped something broken and had to scramble to fix it. Thanks for being early adopters when we were still figuring things out.

To everyone who has worked at Helicone—thank you for being a part of this journey.

Building Helicone with this community has been one of the best experiences of our lives. We're excited for what comes next.

If you ever need anything, whether it's questions, help migrating, or just to say hi, we're still right here.
